As a Biomedical Scientist, you will:

• Assist the Senior Biomedical Scientist and liaise with the Section Head for the management of the Histopathology Department.
• Perform routine and complex investigations and analyses of tissue using specialised equipment.
• Ensure compliance with IBMS, HCPC, ISO 15189 (2012), and UKAS accreditation standards.
• Participate in the day-to-day organisation and delivery of clinical pathology services.
• Teach new staff and collaborate with supervisory staff and pathologists on new techniques.
• Maintain effective teamwork and good relationships with all staff members.
• Rotate through all areas of the department, performing various laboratory techniques.

The ideal Biomedical Scientist candidate will have:

• A degree in Biomedical Science or a similar field.
• HCPC registration.
• Experience working in a Histology lab.
• Membership in the Institute of Biomedical Sciences.
• An MSc and Fellowship of the Institute of Biomedical Sciences are desirable.
