Assessment & Safeguarding Teams

There’s no denying social work is a challenging job wherever you practice, but when management is stable and supportive, processes are properly laid out, and caseloads are capped it certainly makes things easier. It also doesn’t hurt to be paid up to £45,058 all in as a senior practitioner, making the salary more than competitive with neighbouring authorities.

Other benefits include:

  • Retention bonus of £2,000 pa, plus market premia up to 11.5% of salary.
  • £963 car user allowance and free parking
  • Up to 7.5% pension contribution
  • Up to £8,000 relocation allowance
  • Flexible working

Vacancies are in both Initial Assessment & Childrens Safeguarding Teams.

Due to sustained results with families, and a focus on retaining and developing their staff you will also be offered consistent training opportunities, paid qualifications and professional development to ensure the council not only develops your practice, but actually provides a career pathway.

Having adopted the Family Safeguarding Model in 2018, the council has become a poster boy for the approach, even winning accolades for their success in rolling out the model. If you are unfamiliar, in brief the model is a way of keeping families together, where it is safe to do so, through a more collaborative way of working where parents are motivated to identify the changes needed within their families.
